Doeren Mayhew Announces the Election of Five New Shareholders

TROY, MICH. – Jan. 2, 2019 – Doeren Mayhew, a top 65 CPA and advisory firm with locations in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, Zürich and London, announces the promotion of five senior managers to the position of shareholder. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Bill Astrab, John Burns, Kyle Lusczakoski, Douglas Martin and Carol Szwed will be the latest shareholders to join the firm’s growing leadership team.

bill-astrab-web-2018.jpgBill Astrab is a member of the firm’s Financial Institutions Group, where he specializes in financial audit, assurance and employee benefit plan audit services for credit unions and credit union service organizations across the nation. A 30-plus-year industry veteran, Astrab joined Doeren Mayhew in 2015 as a result of a merger with credit union auditing firm Orth, Chakler, Murnane & Company. Based in the Virginia area, he focuses his efforts on driving the group’s East Coast growth. A graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a CPA, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

john-burns-web-2018.jpgJohn Burns, based in the firm’s Troy, Mich. headquarters, specializes in federal and state income taxes for multistate and multinational businesses, as well as individuals. With more than 12 years’ experience, he focuses on assisting contractors, distributors, manufacturers, health care providers and service providers. A CPA in the State of Michigan, Burns earned his Master of Science in taxation from Wayne State University, Master of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in acccounting from Eastern Michigan University. In addition, he is a member of the AICPA and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).

kyle-lusczakoski-web-pp.jpgKyle Lusczakoski brings more than 10 years’ experience to his role in the firm’s Tax Group in Troy, Mich., where he focuses on the domestic taxation of closely held corporations, partnerships and its key stakeholders. He serves a diverse roster of clients, including businesses in the manufacturing, construction, real estate, health care and automotive dealership industries. Beyond being a member of the AICPA and MICPA, Lusczakoski is also an active member of the firm’s Construction Group. He holds a CPA license in the State of Michigan, as well as a Master of Science in taxation from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University.

A licensed CPA, Martin has more than 11 years of public accounting and private sector tax experience. He assists multinational businesses, and expatriate and inpatriate individuals, with a range of tax, foreign assignment and consulting services. Martin is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on accounting. In addition, he is a member of the AICPA and MICPA.

Helping lead the office’s Tax Group, Szwed delivers a wide range of federal, state and multistate income tax services to a diverse sector of businesses and its key stakeholders. A graduate of Walsh College with a Master of Science in taxation degree and a Bachelor of Accounting degree, she is a licensed CPA and member of the MICPA.
