Eight Principals Promoted to Partner at Brown Smith Wallace

Brown Smith Wallace has announced the promotion of eight principals to partner, effective January 1, 2019. All of these individuals are active participants in the MSNA Leadership Growth Academy, set to graduate in May 2019.

Schoenleber_Dan-(3).jpgDan K. Schoenleber, CPA, CFE, CVA, CMAS formerly a principal in the Transaction Advisory and Litigation Support Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2019.
 
As a Partner, Schoenleber assists clients through mergers and acquisitions by leading due diligence and quality of earnings engagements. He also assists clients in purchase price negotiations, post-closing working capital and opening balance sheet procedures. His expertise also includes business valuations, fraud and forensic accounting, and litigation support engagements for clients in various industries. He has extensive experience working with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as transaction services for public companies.
 
In addition to his previous work with the Transaction Advisory and Litigation Support Services practice, Schoenleber previously served in the Brown Smith Wallace Audit Services practice, where he was responsible for managing audit and accounting engagements and for training staff.  Schoenleber worked on several client engagements in the manufacturing, software and distribution industries. He has experience performing due diligence on acquisitions with several of the firm’s largest clients.
 
Schoenleber is a licensed CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Certified M&A Specialist (CMAS). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Illinois College. In 2018 he participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.

Ritter_Anne.jpgAnne M. Ritter, CPA, formerly a principal in the Tax Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019.
 
As a partner, Ritter has overall responsibility for the tax planning and consulting services rendered to her individual and business clients and also establishes new client relationships. Ritter has more than 25 years of experience as an accounting professional providing expertise to a wide variety of industry groups including automotive dealerships, construction companies, and manufacturing and distribution companies.
 
Ritter was selected as a 2014 Missouri Society of CPAs Women to Watch recipient. In 2013, she was a recipient of the Streetscape Beyond the Best Top 50 in Business in St. Charles County. In 2014, she was asked to serve on the Advisory Board for Citizens National Bank in St. Charles. She was a board member of the Greater St. Charles County Chamber Board from 2009-2018, serving as Chairman in 2017. She is a member of Missouri Chapter IL of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and served on the Missouri State Chapter of PEO Finance Committee from 2016-2018. She was a board member of the SSM Health St. Joseph Foundation Board from 2009-2017, and served as the treasurer and head of the finance committee.  In 2017, she was appointed by the St. Charles County Executive, and currently serves as a Trustee for the Duckett Creek Sanitary District.
 
Ritter earned a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from Saint Louis University and a Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University. In 2018, Ritter participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.

Ribick_Amy.jpgAmy Ribick, CFE, CRMA, formerly a principal in the Advisory Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2019.
 
Ribick specializes in serving clients in the financial services industry, including compliance, internal and operational audit engagements. She consults on internal and external client business processes and accounting procedures to facilitate process improvements and compliance with laws and regulations. She provides internal audit services, including Compliance and control documentation and testing, for clients. Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Ribick performed internal audit services for a publicly-traded regional casino as well as a not-for-profit organization.
 
Ribick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Saint Louis University and a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University. She serves as the treasurer for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners St. Louis Chapter and as the directory committee chair for the Institute of Internal Audit St. Louis Chapter In 2016, Ribick was a recipient of the St. Louis Business Journal “40 Under 40” award. In addition to dedicating her time to the internal audit profession, Ribick has served as a volunteer for the Humane Society of Missouri since 2008.

Goldenhersh_Todd-(3).jpgTodd J. Goldenhersh, CPA, formerly a principal in the Audit Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner, effective January 1. 2019.
 
Goldenhersh primarily serves clients in the insurance industry, serving insurers writing fidelity, personal and commercial lines; medical and life insurance; and professional liability coverage. He also services the firm’s ever-growing captive insurance clientele. Todd also performs peer review services for public accounting firms throughout the United States.
 
With a specialty in auditing regulated entities and evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls, Goldenhersh has a strong background in data analysis, specifically with the use of ACL and other software, which is used to tailor audits for efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, he has industry experience in internal audits, SOX 404 as well as compliance and forensic case work.
 
Goldenhersh has extensive experience in reviewing complex contracts for regulatory purposes as well as auditing internal controls in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). He recently participated in the Partnership Readiness Program at Brown Smith Wallace, which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.
 
Goldenhersh is a licensed CPA and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Masters of Accountancy. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA) and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Crown Center for Senior Living in St. Louis.   

Brandt_Scott-(2).jpgScott D. Brandt, CPA, CCIFP, formerly a principal in the Audit Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019. Brandt will also continue to serve as the leader of the Construction Industry Group.
 
Brandt has a specialized focus in manufacturing and construction-related entities including multi-company consolidations that involve complex accounting and auditing issues. He has over 14 years of experience in public accounting. He recently participated in the Partnership Readiness Program at Brown Smith Wallace, which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.
 
Brandt is responsible for various in-charge, oversight and management functions during accounting and audit engagements, including performing FAR Part 31 Overhead Rate Audits. His broad range of experience includes providing audit and other attest services in the construction, engineering, manufacturing and distribution industries, as well as an expertise working with employee benefit plans.
 
Brandt holds the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) certification.  This designation demonstrates his commitment to excellence in construction industry financial management and dedication to continuing education and quality improvement. Currently, there are only about 900 active certificate holders nationwide with fewer than 20 in the state of Missouri. He is also currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA), The Surety Association of St. Louis, Association of General Contractors (AGC) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

Boeving_Kevin-(2).jpgKevin Boeving, CPA, formerly a principal in the Tax Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019. Boeving will continue his work advising decision makers on a variety of tax planning strategies and managing their corporate, partnership and individual income tax compliance.
 
Boeving has extensive experience with corporate tax provisions, S corporation planning, IRS audit management, research and development (R&D) tax credits, partnership taxation and high-net-worth tax planning. He also has over 20 years of experience, working with clients in a variety of industries.
 
A graduate of the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana, Boeving holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Boeving recently participated in the Partnership Readiness Program at Brown Smith Wallace, which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.
 
Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a past treasurer of the Missouri Venture Forum and active in the St. Louis startup community.

Vacha_Jen-(3).jpgJennifer M. Vacha, CPA, CGMA, formerly a principal in the Tax Services practice, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019.
 
As a partner, Vacha is responsible for the firm’s not-for-profit tax engagements and provides oversight for other individual and business tax engagements. 
 
Vacha is a prolific public speaker and has given presentations on a number of topics including tax-exempt entities, general tax preparation, social entrepreneurship and non-profit issues. She has also published an article on enterprise risk management processes in the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA) periodical The Asset.
 
Vacha was selected as a member of the St. Louis Business Journal 2018 class of 40 Under 40, and she was a 2015 MOCPA Women to Watch recipient. Through her membership in the MOCPA she serves on both the Board of Directors and the Finance & Audit Committee and is the former chair of the MOCPA NFP Committee. Jen is a member of the AICPA and successfully completed her AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Certification I.
 
Vacha graduated magna cum laude and with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2018, she participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.

Vandeven_Debbie.jpgDeborah M. Vandeven, CPA, CVA, formerly a principal in the Tax Services practice, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019. Vandeven will also continue to serve as the leader of the High-Net-Worth Families and Individuals niche for the firm.
 
As a partner, Vandeven has overall responsibility for the tax planning and consulting services rendered to her individual and business clients. Vandeven has more than 25 years of experience as an accounting professional providing expertise to a wide variety of industry groups, including construction, retail, health care and manufacturing.     
 
Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Vandeven served as a CPA for Price Waterhouse and The May Department Stores Company, where she served as Director of Taxes for the Fortune 100 corporation. Most recently, she held a leadership position with Barrie Pannett CPA, P.C., from which she brings a depth of expertise in tax planning and compliance issues to provide effective business strategies.
 
Vandeven earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in accounting from the University of Missouri. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. She is a licensed member of the Missouri State Board of Accountancy and member of the Missouri Society of CPAs. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).  In 2018 she participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.
