Moore North America Launches U.S. National Tax Office

Eden Prairie, MN – Moore North America (Moore NA), a progressive accounting firm association and one of eight regional members of Moore Global Network Limited (MGNL), has collaborated with member firms to launch a U.S. National Tax Office.

The Moore U.S. National Tax Office (“the Office”) will provide members and their clients with access to deeper tax knowledge across multiple tax specialty areas. The Office is comprised of dedicated tax partners and senior-level staff that will work collaboratively with Moore member firms and shared clients.

“In today’s environment, where our clients are facing change faster than ever before, we want to collaborate with Moore member firms to provide responsive, in-depth expertise that differentiates us,” said Moore Global CEO Anton Colella.

While San Ramon-based Armanino LLP has operated as the driving force behind this initiative, St.Louis-based Brown Smith Wallace and Maple Grove-based GTN have provided tax professionals in property tax and expat tax services, respectively, to assist members. The Office expects to grow in resources and incorporate more members as the program continues.

“Since Moore members already collaborate on a regular basis, the Office is meant to supplement those efforts,” said Moore NA CEO Tony Szczepaniak. “We hope the addition of these resources can help our members continue to grow and thrive alongside their clients.”

In addition to collaboration, the Office seeks to increase communication and education among members. Through tax alerts, events and webinars, the Office provides members with the increased confidence that no matter what issues or questions clients are facing, they have the answers and resources readily available.

“We’re proud to work with high-level resources that will allow each of our member firms to collaborate and create a top-tier experience for our shared clients,” said Tony Caleca, Chairman of Moore NA and Managing Partner of Brown Smith Wallace. “The National Tax Office is a true asset for Moore.”

The regular communications will provide expanded insights into emerging legislation, including strategic tax opportunities across state, national and international jurisdictions and the impact of new tax pronouncements. These emails and notices are meant to update and educate members and their clients, keeping them informed and engaged.

“The Moore U.S. National Tax Office provides an invaluable resource for our member firms and clients,” said David Kolb, President of Global Tax Network. “Global mobility tax, by its nature, requires significant collaboration between and amongst offices in multiple locations. As a firm dedicated to Mobility Tax, we look forward to serving as a resource to the Moore network as it relates to mobility tax services, solutions, and technology.”

The experts that will be dedicated, in part, to the Office include professionals from international tax, global mobility tax, transfer pricing, opportunity zones, state and local tax (SALT), compensation and benefits, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), R&D tax credits and incentives, ownership changes (NOLs), provision (ASC 740), estate, gift and trust, IRS practice and procedures, and blockchain and digital assets.

“Together we are Moore,” said Matt Armanino, CEO of Armanino LLP. “Through the U.S National Tax Office our members collectively provide greater value to our clients and the accounting profession.”
